Job summary

Rex.zone is seeking a Remote Robotics Engineer aligned with the US market to contribute across perception, planning, and control with a focus on simulation testing, QA evaluation, log analysis, and safety validation.

You will build and maintain robotics software in C++ and Python, integrate cameras, IMU, and LiDAR, and develop motion planning and autonomy behaviors, plus run CI-style tests and document results for production deployment.

Qualifications

  • Mid-senior experience delivering robotics systems.
  • Strong C++ and Python skills.
  • Experience with ROS2 (nodes, topics, transforms, lifecycle) or equivalent middleware.
  • Knowledge of kinematics/dynamics, control systems, motion planning, and SLAM/localization concepts.
  • Ability to design tests, debug from logs, and communicate engineering tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain robotics software components in C++ and Python
  • Integrate sensors (camera, IMU, LiDAR) and perform sensor fusion
  • Develop and tune motion planning, control loops, and autonomy behaviors
  • Run simulation experiments and hardware‑in‑the‑loop style tests where applicable
  • Define acceptance criteria, create repeatable test harnesses, and track metrics
  • Analyze logs, trajectories, and edge cases to reduce failure rates and improve coverage
  • Contribute to dataset review and training‑data quality for learning‑based components
  • Write documentation, test plans, and runbooks for production‑grade deployment
