Job summary

Rex.zone is seeking a mid-senior Robotics Engineer for a fully remote role in the United States. You will design, implement, and validate robotics software components across perception, localization, motion planning and control, with ROS/ROS2 integration.

Qualifications

• Mid-senior experience shipping robotics software in production or advanced R&D.
• Strong C++ and Python for robotics and real-time systems.
• Practical ROS/ROS2 experience with debugging tools and distributed systems concepts.
• Solid understanding of kinematics, dynamics, control systems, and state estimation.
• Experience with SLAM, sensor fusion, and motion planning foundations.
• Ability to design tests, troubleshoot field issues, and drive root-cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain ROS/ROS2 nodes, message interfaces, and real-time data pipelines
• Build perception and sensor fusion modules for robust state estimation
• Implement localization, mapping, and navigation behaviors using SLAM and planning algorithms
• Design control strategies for mobile bases or manipulators (PID, MPC, cascaded control)
• Create simulation-first workflows using Gazebo or Isaac Sim for regression testing
• Optimize performance for CPU/GPU and embedded constraints
• Integrate with hardware drivers and calibrate sensors
• Run validation in simulation and on-robot, including safety and fault handling
• Document system architecture and operational procedures for deployment
