Job summary

Rex.zone is seeking a mid-senior Robotics Engineer to build, test, and deploy real-world robotic systems across perception, motion planning, and controls. The role supports end-to-end workflows from simulation to field validation with emphasis on code quality, testing, and reliable deployments.

You will work on ROS2-based perception, localization, planning, and control pipelines, integrate diverse sensors, and contribute to safer, more capable autonomous systems for real-world use.

Qualifications

  • Mid-senior experience shipping robotics/autonomy software in production or field trials.
  • Strong C++ and Python with debugging, profiling, and test-driven development practices.
  • Hands-on ROS2 experience (TF, message filters, lifecycle nodes, launch systems).
  • Knowledge of SLAM/state estimation, motion planning, and classical control (PID/MPC).
  • Practical computer vision and 3D geometry skills for robotics perception.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain ROS2 packages for perception, localization, planning, and control.
  • Integrate and calibrate sensors (camera, LiDAR, IMU), including time synchronization and stable sensor fusion.
  • Develop autonomy features such as waypoint navigation, obstacle avoidance, recovery behaviors, and control loop tuning.
  • Create simulation scenarios and regression tests (Gazebo/Isaac Sim) to validate changes prior to deployment.
  • Profile performance, reduce latency, and improve real-time reliability for robotics pipelines.
  • Document system behavior, safety constraints, and operational procedures for field readiness.
