Job summary

Rex.zone is seeking a mid-senior Robotics Engineer for a full-time remote role focused on developing production-grade robotics software across perception, SLAM, planning, controls, simulation, deployment, and QA validation for safe operation.

You will work on ROS2 nodes, sensor integration, simulation, and testing, collaborating with ML and QA teams to meet deployment constraints and quality metrics. Competitive hourly base pay offered, with flexibility based on experience.

Qualifications

  • Mid-senior experience shipping robotics systems in production or field trials.
  • Strong Python and C++ for robotics software engineering.
  • Hands-on ROS2 experience with robotics tooling and debugging.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain robot software components (ROS2 nodes, middleware integration, device drivers).
  • Develop autonomy features: SLAM, localization, mapping, motion planning, and control loops.
  • Implement perception pipelines using computer vision and sensor fusion for real-time operation.
  • Integrate sensors such as LiDAR, cameras, and IMU; support calibration and reliability.
  • Create simulation and testing harnesses (Gazebo, unit/integration tests, HIL/SIL) to validate behaviors.
  • Define evaluation metrics and run structured QA validation to prevent regressions.
  • Support training-data workflows: data collection, labeling specs, dataset versioning, and data quality checks.
  • Collaborate with ML and QA teams on deployment constraints (latency/compute/robustness) and monitoring.
