Rex.zone is hiring for a robotics software engineer to join a distributed team working on perception, localization, planning, and controls for real-world robotic systems. You will build sensor fusion, SLAM, and validation workflows while collaborating with AI teams to ensure data quality and safety guidelines.

The role emphasizes hands-on development in Python and C++ within a remote, globally distributed environment.

Qualifications

• Mid-Senior experience delivering robotics or autonomy features.
• Strong Python and C++ skills; hands-on ROS2 experience.
• Experience with computer vision datasets, curation, and evaluation metrics.
• Familiarity with autonomy safety practices (scenario-based testing, failure mode analysis).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain robotics software components for perception, localization, planning, and controls.
• Build simulation-to-real validation workflows (scenario generation, regression testing, performance tracking).
• Integrate sensors (camera, LiDAR, IMU, wheel odometry) and implement sensor fusion + SLAM pipelines.
• Create evaluation protocols and QA evaluation checklists for autonomy behaviors and safety constraints.
• Partner with AI teams on training data quality requirements, annotation guidelines compliance, and data labeling strategy.
• Contribute to prompt evaluation / LLM evaluation where robot logs or HRI data require structured review.
• Document architecture, test results, and release criteria; participate in incident triage as needed.
