Job summary

Talent Edge Recruiting is seeking a Residential Estimator / Preconstruction Coordinator to lead estimating and preconstruction for residential projects, with some commercial/government support. The role emphasizes ownership of the estimating process and collaboration with ownership to drive growth.

The position offers a flexible, primarily remote work setup with a 4-day workweek, occasional site visits, and a compensation package including salary, bonus, and profit sharing.

Qualifications

• Experience in residential construction estimating and preconstruction coordination.
• Ability to review architectural plans, develop estimates, and coordinate pricing.
• Strong Excel proficiency and familiarity with construction software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage estimating and preconstruction responsibilities independently.

Responsibilities

• Remote position with occasional local site visits, job walks, and meetings in Poulsbo and surrounding areas.
• Review architectural plans and project documents to develop accurate cost estimates.
• Prepare detailed estimates for residential projects typically valued at $200K–$1M+.
• Coordinate with architects, homeowners, subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors during preconstruction.
• Request, collect, and compare pricing to develop accurate budgets.
• Identify material, labor, and subcontractor costs and align estimates with market pricing.
• Assist with scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and preconstruction planning.
• Coordinate permits and project documentation for execution.
• Collaborate with Project Manager to ensure smooth handoff from estimating to construction.
• Attend site visits and supplier meetings as needed; support select commercial/government opportunities.
