Job summary

Talent Edge Recruiting is seeking an Estimator / Preconstruction Coordinator in Washington a primarily remote role with one meeting/site-visits day per week. You’ll support government, commercial, and residential projects from initial pricing through construction preparation, including government bids and SAM.gov workflows.

The position emphasizes cost estimation, subcontractor quotes, bid packages, and coordination with architects and teams to ensure accurate pricing and timely procurement.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction estimating, bid coordination, or project coordination/management.
• Ability to price construction work, collect subcontractor quotes, and prepare bids.
• Government contracting and SAM.gov experience preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working independently.
• Residential preconstruction experience is beneficial, but training is available for candidates with strong estimating and government bidding experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor SAM.gov for government contracting opportunities and review bid requirements.
• Prepare cost estimates, obtain subcontractor quotes, and assemble bid packages.
• Support government and commercial projects, including roadwork, naval shipyard projects, medical clinic renovations, and fish hatchery foundations and excavation.
• Review residential plans, coordinate with architects, develop estimates, and prepare projects for construction.
• Support custom home builds, additions, remodels, garages, and shops.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, clients, and internal teams to ensure accurate pricing and organized project planning.
