Job summary

A custom home building company is seeking a Residential Construction Estimator to produce accurate estimates for custom homes and additions. This role involves preparing detailed estimates, performing quantity takeoffs, and organizing estimates using PlanSwift or Buildertrend. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and able to work independently in a remote setting. Pay ranges from $8 to $10 per hour based on experience, with flexible, project-based assignments. Strong communication skills and alignment with U.S. Central Time are necessary.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in estimating U.S. residential construction.
• Fluent spoken and written English is required.
• Strong blueprint reading and scope comprehension.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and dependable.
• Must have significant overlap with U.S. Central Time.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for custom homes, additions, and remodels.
• Perform quantity takeoffs from architectural/construction drawings.
• Build and organize estimates in PlanSwift and/or Buildertrend.
• Create detailed scope sheets for subcontractor pricing.
• Maintain pricing references, cost histories, and estimate backups.
