Job summary

B&B Concrete is seeking a seasoned Estimator/Detailer for remote work opportunities. The role focuses on reinforcing-steel takeoffs, labor and material pricing, and developing standardized estimating processes.

You will influence preconstruction strategies and collaborate with management to ensure accurate bids on major projects. The ideal candidate brings 7+ years in reinforcement steel, robust estimating/drawing-reading skills, and hands-on experience with major concrete contractors.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in reinforcing-steel industry, preference for 10+ years.
• Significant experience estimating reinforcing steel and detailing.
• Experience with large concrete projects (infrastructure, industrial, wastewater).
• Strong ability to read structural drawings and specs.
• Knowledge of ACI and CRSI requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete reinforcing-steel quantity takeoffs from drawings and specs.
• Develop material, fabrication, detailing, placing labor, and other costs.
• Establish labor hours and production assumptions per project.
• Identify scope gaps and constructability issues early.
• Prepare conceptual, preliminary and final estimates.
• Assist management in bid strategy and pricing.
• Coordinate pricing for materials, fabrication, freight, and subs.
• Maintain organized estimate documentation.
