Job summary

bioMerieux Inc. is seeking a Field Systems Engineer to service customers across a geographic territory and nationwide as needed. The role requires remote work capability, overnight travel on short notice, and strong technical and customer-facing skills.

You will respond to service needs, install, maintain, and repair instruments, and identify sales opportunities while supporting cross-functional teams. Training is provided at Durham, NC or St. Louis, MO offices within the first year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering, Electronic Technology, Computer Science, or Biomedical Science.
• 2+ years of troubleshooting/repair experience with electro-mechanical, electronic, computer, or electrical systems.
• Education substitution: 6+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license in state of residence.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer needs and perform installations, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs to ensure instruments meet specifications.
• Build trust with customers, promote service agreements, and identify sales opportunities for cross-functional teams.
• Foster teamwork across service and support teams while driving field service revenue via preventive maintenance and moves.
• Attend product training at Durham, NC or St. Louis, MO offices within the first year; travel as needed.
• Travel includes scheduled and unscheduled visits with overnight stays for wide territories and occasional national travel.
• Participate in weekend/holiday on-call rotation (~every 5 weeks) with local phone availability and possible national travel.
• Complete service work orders, QA checklists, and training requirements timely and accurately.
