Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a motivated Physician Coder with radiology coding experience to join our remote team. The role focuses on coding CT, Ultrasounds, and other radiology procedures across a nationwide scope.

Candidates must hold an active CPC (or equivalent) and have at least 6 months of radiology coding experience. Remote work is supported with flexible scheduling and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must hold CPC/CCS/CCS-P/CCA/CPC-A/RHIA/RHIT in active status with AHIMA or AAPC.
• Six months of professional coding experience in healthcare.
• Remote work ability and experience with coding software and abstracting systems.
• Knowledge of ICD and CPT coding principles as recommended by AHIMA/AAPC.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes medical information from records and assigns ICD/CPT codes.
• abstracts diagnoses and procedures into EMR and ensures complete records.
• Ensures compliance with CMS, HCFA, OIG and state regulations.
• Compiles daily and monthly reports for research or analysis.
• Works independently with supervision as needed and seeks guidance for complex codes.

CCS (Certified Coding Specialist)

CCS-P (Certified Coding Specialist – Physician)

CCA (Certified Coding Associate)

CPC-A (Certified Professional Coder – Apprentice)

RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator)

Associate’s degree in related health care field
