Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires CPC or CCS/CCS-P/CCA/CPC-A with radiology experience
• At least 6 months of professional coding experience in radiology
• Ability to work effectively in a remote environment

Responsibilities

• Evaluate medical records and assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes per national guidelines
• Abstract diagnoses and procedures into EMR with appropriate signatures and authorizations
• Ensure compliance with CMS, OIG and HCFA coding rules
• Prepare daily/monthly reports as assigned
• Operate with minimal supervision while seeking guidance when needed

Education

Certified Professional Coder (CPC)

CPC-A acceptable with radiology experience

Other AHIMA/AAPC coding credentials
