Job summary

Banner Health is seeking an experienced Physician Coder to join the Radiology coding team in a fully remote environment. The role requires active CPC and involves coding CT, Ultrasounds, and other modalities across our Radiology group.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent with formal training in medical record keeping principles and practices.
• Requires CPC/CCS/CCS-P/CCA/CPC-A/RHIA/RHIT active status with AHIMA or AAPC.
• Six months of professional coding experience in a broad healthcare setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates medical records and assigns diagnosis and procedure codes per national guidelines.
• Abstracts diagnoses and procedures into EMR and ensures complete documentation with appropriate signatures.
• Provides quality assurance to coding and ensures compliance with CMS, OIG, HCFA, and AHIMA/AAPC standards.
• Compiles daily and monthly reports from coding data for analysis.
