Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a motivated Physician Coder to join our Radiology coding team. This fully remote position requires CPC (or equivalent) with recent coding experience, preferably in radiology (CT, Ultrasound, and related modalities).

Designed for remote work across a national footprint, the role offers flexible scheduling, strong support, and opportunities for growth within Banner Health’s Coding Ambulatory department.

Qualifications

• Requires CPC/CCS/CCS-P/CCA/RHIA/RHIT certifications in active status.
• Minimum six months of professional coding experience.
• Remote work capable with access to coding software and abstracting systems.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates medical records and assigns ICD/ CPT codes per national guidelines.
• Abstracts clinical information into EMR, ensuring complete and accurate documentation.
• Ensures compliance with CMS, OIG and HCFA coding rules and standards.
• Compiles daily/monthly reports for research or analysis as assigned.
• Works independently with supervision and seeks guidance as needed.

Certified Professional Coder – Apprentice (CPC-A)

Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)
