Job summary

Bowman seeks a Project Accountant to support project cost accounting, reporting, and financial operations. This role is remote, preferably in the Central or Eastern time zones, within the United States.

You will interact with operations and multiple corporate accounting functions to ensure accurate, timely reporting and effective cost control. Applicants should bring 7+ years of project accounting experience, GAAP knowledge, and experience with Deltek Vantagepoint or similar ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience is required.
• CMA or CPA certification is preferred but not required.
• 7+ years of corporate project accounting experience preferred.
• Experience in architecture, engineering, and/or construction industries preferred.
• Knowledge of GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Assist with reports on project cost accounting in adherence to company policies.
• Act as a liaison between operations and corporate accounting functions.
• Aid in review and analysis of key performance metrics to support operations management.
• Identify, research, and resolve project issues.
• Reconcile and analyze project cost reports for accurate reporting.
• Assist the Regional Controller with various account reports and collections.
• Coordinate project billers and managers to ensure accurate project setups.
• Update and maintain client and consultant budgets, scope, pricing, and change orders.
• Support monthly invoicing and review vendor/subcontractor invoices.
• Contact customers about past due balances and lead collections up to 90 days.
