Job summary

Bowman is seeking a Project Accountant to join our team remotely, preferably in Central or Eastern Time. You will assist with project cost accounting, reporting, and cross‑functional liaison with accounting, operations, and payroll to ensure accurate financial data.

The role emphasizes GAAP knowledge, Deltek Vantagepoint expertise, and full cycle AP experience, with 7+ years in corporate project accounting in A/E/C industries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience required.
• 7+ years corporate project accounting experience preferred.
• Previous project accounting experience in architecture, engineering or construction preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP; ERP system exposure; AP full cycle experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project cost accounting reports in line with company policies.
• Act as liaison between operations and corporate accounting functions (AP, payroll, etc).
• Aid in review and analysis of performance metrics to support operations management.
• Identify, research and resolve project issues.
• Reconcile and analyze project cost reports for timely reporting.
• Support the Regional Controller with various account reports and collections.
• Coordinate project billers and managers to ensure accurate project setups.
• Maintain client and consultant budgets, scope, pricing, change orders, and reporting.
• Assist tracking of project and business operating performance.
• Support project set‑ups for new projects and monthly invoicing.
• Review vendor and subcontractor invoices; assist collections up to 90 days.
