Job summary

Bowman is seeking a Project Accountant to oversee and report on project cost accounting, primarily in a remote role aligned with the Eastern Time Zone. You’ll act as a liaison between operations and corporate accounting, ensuring accurate project reporting and timely issue resolution.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in corporate accounting, GAAP proficiency, and experience with Deltek Vantagepoint or similar ERP. CPA/CMA is a plus; AP full cycle exposure is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent relevant experience required.
• CPA/CMA preferred but not required.
• 7+ years of corporate accounting experience.
• Project accounting in architecture/engineering/construction preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP.
• Knowledge of Deltek Vantagepoint preferred; ERP experience required.
• AP full cycle exposure.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and report on project cost accounting per company policies.
• Act as liaison between operations and corporate accounting functions (AP, payroll, etc.).
• Review KPIs to support operations and identify improvement opportunities.
• Identify, research, and resolve project issues.
• Reconcile and analyze project cost reports for timely reporting.
• Assist Regional Controller with reports, collections, etc.
• Coordinate with project billers and managers for accurate project setups and procedures.
• Maintain and report on client/budget updates and change orders.
• Assist with annual financial audit preparation and cash reconciliation.
