Job summary

CommonSpirit is seeking a Coding Auditor and Educator Professional Fee to support the professional fee coding team across the organization. You will audit, educate, and standardize coding practices while staying updated on regulatory changes to ensure timely and compliant billing.

You will also lead onboarding and ongoing training, collaborating with leadership on strategic planning to maintain excellence in coding and regulatory billing practices.

Qualifications

• Two years of PB coder audits, education and training experience.
• Five years of experience coding professional fee records.
• CPC/CCS/CCS-P or RHIT/RHIA certifications required.
• Epic experience.
• Knowledge of professional fee coding rules and Medicare billing.
• Advanced knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers.
• Strong organizational, planning, scheduling and project management abilities.
• Excellent analytical ability to develop and analyze data to solve complex problems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain mastery of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and regulatory guidelines as a high-level SME for complex billing inquiries.
• Conduct systematic chart audits to identify documentation gaps and track trends.
• Lead onboarding for new hires and provide education on Risk Adjustment, HCCs, and MEAT criteria.
• Develop and deploy training programs to keep coding teams current on health plan requirements and regulatory changes.
• Build strong relationships with coding teams to standardize practices and cross-departmental communication.
• Independently manage deadlines, present findings, and drive improvements in coding compliance.
