Job summary

CommonSpirit is seeking a Coding Auditor and Educator for Professional Fee services. You will audit and educate on coding practices, lead onboarding, and implement updates to stay compliant with evolving regulations across the PB coding teams.

Your role includes training staff, coordinating with leadership on strategic coding initiatives, and ensuring accurate documentation for compliant billing processes.

Qualifications

• Two years of PB coder audits, education, and training.
• Five years of experience coding professional fee records.
• Knowledge of professional fee coding rules and Medicare billing.
• Advanced knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers.
• Advanced knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy and physiology.
• Strong analytical ability to develop and analyze data to solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain mastery of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and regulatory guidelines to serve as a high-level expert.
• Conduct systematic chart audits to identify gaps and track trends.
• Lead onboarding for new hires and educate on Risk Adjustment, HCCs, and MEAT.
• Develop and deploy training programs to keep coding teams current with changes.
• Build relationships with coding teams to standardize practices across departments.
• Independently manage deadlines, present findings, and drive improvements in coding compliance.
