Job summary

CommonSpirit is hiring a Coding Auditor and Educator Professional Fee to support the professional fee coding team across the organization. You will audit, educate and enable standardized coding practices using ICD-10-CM, CPT-4, HCPCS and related guidelines.

You will onboard staff, deliver ongoing training, monitor regulatory changes and communicate updates to ensure timely and accurate coding and billing. Strong Epic experience and Medicare rules knowledge are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Two years of PB coder audits, education and training experience
• Five years of experience coding professional fee records
• CPC/CCS/CCS-P or RHIT/RHIA certifications recognized
• Epic experience required
• Knowledge of professional fee coding rules and guidelines
• Understanding Medicare billing rules and regulations
• Advanced knowledge of NCCI, ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS and modifiers
• Advanced medical terminology and anatomy knowledge
• Strong organizational, planning, scheduling and project management skills
• Excellent analytical ability to develop data-driven solutions

Responsibilities

• Perform internal audits and provide follow-up education for accuracy and compliance
• Onboard and train new staff; develop and deploy ongoing educational programs
• Monitor regulatory changes and communicate updates to PB coding teams
• Participate in short- and long-term strategic planning for compliant coding and billing practices
• Maintain mastery of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS and related guidelines as SME
• Lead chart audits to identify gaps and improve productivity and accuracy
• Drive risk adjustment and MEAT criteria education to improve documentation quality
• Develop specialized training to keep teams current with health plan requirements
• Foster cross-department relationships to standardize coding practices
• Manage deadlines, present findings and drive improvements in coding compliance
