Job summary

CommonSpirit is seeking a Coding Auditor and Educator Professional Fee to support the professional fee coding team across the organization. You will audit, educate, and standardize coding practices while staying current on regulatory changes and payer requirements.

You will onboard, train, and develop ongoing programs for staff, collaborating with leadership on short- and long-term strategic coding initiatives to ensure compliant billing and high-quality documentation.

Qualifications

• Two years of PB coder audits, education, and training.
• Five years of experience coding professional fee records.
• Certifications CPC/CCS/CCS-P/RHIT/RHIA required.
• Epic experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of professional fee coding rules and Medicare billing.
• Advanced knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers.
• Strong organizational and analytical abilities.
• Understanding of Medicare regulations and billing rules.

Responsibilities

• Perform internal audits and provide follow-up education for accuracy and compliance.
• Onboard and train new staff; develop and deploy ongoing educational programs.
• Stay current with regulatory changes and implement updates in coding teams.
• Maintain mastery of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and regulatory guidelines as SME for complex inquiries.
• Lead chart audits to identify gaps and drive improvements in productivity and accuracy.
