Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a remote Scheduling Associate for the Enterprise Revenue Cycle Scheduling team. You will use the central scheduling system to provide timely and courteous patient appointments while coordinating test sequencing to prevent conflicts.

Responsibilities include collecting patient registration data, verifying insurance information, and ensuring compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, HIPAA, and payer requirements.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: High School Graduate with typically 1 year in health care, insurance, call center, or customer service.
• Ability to problem solve in a high stress area, work independently to meet deadlines, and prioritize work.
• General computer knowledge and comfort with standard software and scheduling systems.

Responsibilities

• Accurate use of centralized scheduling system to provide timely, courteous appointments and proper test sequencing.
• Enter all required patient registration data including demographics, insurance, and contacts.
• Explain Medicare/insurance requirements and obtain necessary pre-authorizations where applicable.
