Qualifications

• Hospital collection experience preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collects patient demographic and insurance information and enters into electronic patient record system.
• Schedules, cancels, and reschedules patient appointments for medical services.
• Performs pre-registration, verifies insurance coverage, referrals and authorizations; provides liability estimates and reminders.
• Takes and delivers messages per departmental guidelines in a timely manner.
• Scans insurance benefits, liability estimates, and authorizations into the EHR daily.
• Provides courteous customer service via phone (within 3 rings) to patients and providers.
• Collects co-pays or coinsurance to appropriate accounts.
• Supports hospital mission and participates in education for applicable programs (DNV).
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
