Job summary

Advocate Health is hiring a Pharmacy Informatics Specialist to support the medication electronic health record and build enhancements. You will help optimize workflows, ensure patient safety, and work with clinicians to translate practice needs into system requirements.

Ideal candidates hold a Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor’s in Pharmacy, Epic Willow certification, and 3 years of pharmacist experience or PGY1/PGY2 in informatics.

Qualifications

• Strong clinical judgment with systems thinking and EPIC certification.
• Experience with medication records, formularies, shortages, CNR/dispense prep, labeling, interfaces, automated dispensing systems, or infusion pumps.
• Ability to translate clinical decisions into system build requirements and facilitate cross-functional decisions.
• Proactive identification and communication of risks; work independently with peer review.

Responsibilities

• Leverages pharmacist clinical and informatics skills to support the medication electronic health record.
• Serves as liaison regarding clinical informatics.
• Develops informatics plans, data analysis, and systems to advance evidence-based practice and patient safety.
• Designs and implements new EHR builds to support clinical practice.
• Consults with providers and leadership to evaluate information systems.
• Links medication workflows with technology and communicates complex informatics issues.
• Supports informatics solutions for clinical and operational improvement.
• Creates data analytics to facilitate data review and improve performance.
• Develops automated clinical rules to support patient care.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.
