Intuit SelectTime seeks a Lead Tax Processor for the PTO team to drive complex payroll tax resolutions, SOP governance, and staff coaching. This technical leadership role focuses on real-time issue resolution, cross-functional collaboration, and building team capability.

The role emphasizes ownership of escalations, SOP development, and proactive workflow improvements, with 20–40 hours per week and overtime eligibility in a flexible, remote-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of payroll tax experience with focus on complex tax defect resolution, notice response, and multi-state amendment filings.
• Lead/Senior/SME experience with coaching or training junior staff in nuanced resolution scenarios.
• Expert knowledge of tax regulations across US jurisdictions, including local taxes (PA, OH) and state programs (PFML, SDI).
• Advanced writing skills to create, review, and approve SOPs and technical documents for a tax processor audience.
• Demonstrated ownership of team SLAs and proactive resolution of analytics and workflow barriers.
• Validation-first mindset with fully vetted solutions and alternatives presented to leadership.
• 5+ years handling highly sensitive customer and internal escalations with minimal guidance.
• 4+ years in contact center or back-office operations supporting high-volume service needs.
• Comfort with leveraging AI tools to improve daily tasks and team workflows.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary real-time go-to technical expert for TP1, TP2, and TP3 staff, answering complex questions and teaching resolution paths.
• Own the authoring, technical review, and formal approval of SOPs and KB articles across core operations.
• Conduct structured coaching sessions at least quarterly using the SBIC feedback model to close skill gaps.
• Lead or contribute to team huddles, QA sessions, and daily stand-ups as backup facilitator when needed.
• Maintain mastery of daily business landscape, oversee WIP management, backlog aging reports, and staffing recommendations.
• Resolve the most severe State and Federal payroll tax notices, including IRS discrepancies and cross-jurisdictional penalties.
• Approve highly complex amended Federal (941-X, W-2c) and State returns with audit trails.
• Identify systemic trends and Known Issues, communicating findings with data-driven recommendations.
• Represent the team in cross-functional meetings and provide risk-informed alternatives.
