Job summary

Intuit seeks a Lead Tax Processor within SelectTime to drive complex payroll tax work and escalate handling, serving as a primary SME for TP1-TP3 staff. This hourly, non-exempt role offers overtime and a flexible schedule with a minimum of 20 hours per week, increasing to 40 based on business need.

You will own SOPs, conduct quarterly coaching, and guide workflow improvements while ensuring compliance across U.S. jurisdictions and state programs.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of payroll tax experience with focus on complex tax defect resolution and multi-state filings.
• Experience as a lead, senior specialist, or SME with coaching juniors.
• Expert knowledge of US tax regulations including local municipal taxes and PFML/SDI.
• Advanced writing skills to create and approve SOPs and technical documents.
• 5+ years handling highly sensitive escalations with minimal guidance.
• 4+ years in contact center, customer service, or back-office operations.
• Familiarity with AI tools to improve team workflows.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary real-time technical expert for TP1, TP2, and TP3 staff.
• Own authoring, technical review, and approval of SOPs and KB articles.
• Conduct quarterly coaching sessions using the SBIC feedback model.
• Lead or back up Daily Stand-Ups when the M1 manager is unavailable.
• Oversee WIP, backlog, and aging reports; advise staffing adjustments.
• Resolve severe payroll tax notices across states and jurisdictions.
• Approve complex amended Federal/State returns with audit trails.
• Identify trends and risks; communicate with stakeholders.
• Represent the team in cross-functional meetings with compliance focus.
