Job summary

Intuit is seeking a Lead Tax Processor and Subject Matter Expert for Payroll Tax Operations in Minnesota. You will own complex escalations, govern SOPs, coach the team, and drive capacity building while ensuring compliance across multi-state tax filings.

You will work as a technical leader with responsibility for high-stakes issues, crafting data-driven responses and mentoring junior staff, with the potential for overtime in a flexible, hourly setting.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in payroll tax with complex defect resolution.
• Experience leading or mentoring staff in escalations.
• Expert knowledge of US payroll tax and multi-state filings.
• Excellent written SOP/technical document skills.
• Ownership of SLAs and proactive workflow improvements.
• Experience with high-volume contact center or back-office ops.
• Comfort with AI tools to improve routines.

Responsibilities

• Serve as real-time technical expert for TP1-3 and train paths.
• Author, review, and approve SOPs and KB articles.
• Lead quarterly coaching sessions using SBIC model.
• Facilitate team huddles and stand-ups as backup facilitator.
• Oversee WIP, backlog, aging reports; advise staffing.
• Resolve severe payroll tax notices across states.
• Approve complex amended Federal and State returns.
• Identify compliance risks and communicate findings.
• Represent team in cross-functional meetings with risk-aware options.
