Job summary

Connections Health Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Accountant to manage company payroll processing for a multi-state workforce. You will ensure accurate hours, update 401k data, and handle garnishments while maintaining strict compliance with tax rules and reporting requirements.

You will collaborate with HR, FP&A, and external partners to optimize Payroll systems, generate analytics, and support audits. A strong Excel background and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Accounting or related field.
• 2–3 years of payroll processing experience.
• Experience running payroll in a multi-state environment.
• Strong background in payroll tax compliance, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Experience with garnishments, levies, liens, and subpoenas.
• Familiarity with benefits rules and regulations.
• Excel and analytical reporting proficiency.
• Excellent problem solving, organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll using Ceridian/Dayforce bi-weekly for exempt and non-exempt staff.
• Collaborate with managers to ensure accurate hours and timely approvals.
• Update 401k deferrals, employer match, and loans in payroll system.
• Verify and process 401k payroll data for timely submissions.
• Set up garnishment and tax levy calculations; complete required paperwork.
• Process off-cycle payrolls and ensure tax compliance at all levels.
• Complete year-end reporting related to W-2 and 401K census.
• Generate payroll analytics prior to funding; ensure accuracy.
• Partner with HR, FP&A, and third parties to optimize configurations.
• Create SOPs and assist with quarterly/year-end audits; be the payroll contact.
• Research and resolve issues with team to drive positive outcomes.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and other duties as assigned.
