Job summary

Connections Health Solutions is seeking a Payroll Accountant to manage multi-state payroll processing, tax compliance, and related accounting tasks in a fully remote role across the United States. You will coordinate with HR and finance teams to ensure accurate, timely payroll and reporting.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of payroll experience, proficiency with Ceridian/Dayforce, and strong Excel skills. The position offers comprehensive benefits and a supportive, mission-driven culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Accounting or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2-3 years of payroll processing experience.
• Experience running payroll in a multi-state environment.
• Strong background in payroll tax compliance, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Experience with garnishments, levies, liens, support orders, and subpoenas.
• Familiarity with benefits rules and regulations.
• Superior knowledge of Microsoft Excel and analytical reporting.
• Excellent problem solving, organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Process and submit accurate payroll using Ceridian/Dayforce on a bi-weekly basis for exempt and non-exempt employees.
• Ensure hours are submitted and approved timely; resolve discrepancies with employees/managers.
• Update 401k deferrals, employer matching, and 401k loans in payroll system; verify 401k data.
• Set up garnishment and tax levy calculations; process required paperwork.
• Process off-cycle payrolls; ensure compliance with tax laws and year-end reporting (W-2, 401K census).
• Prepare payroll analytics and partner with HR, FP&A, and third party to optimize configurations.
• Create and maintain payroll SOPs; assist quarterly/year-end audits; respond to payroll questions.
