Job summary

Signature Performance, Inc. is seeking a Patient Financial Services Supervisor to lead daily revenue cycle operations from a remote base with nationwide applicants. The role emphasizes mentoring staff, monitoring metrics, and driving improvements in cash flow and patient experience.

You will oversee billing, insurance follow-up, denials, self-pay workflows, and cash posting while ensuring adherence to SOPs and payer requirements. Strong leadership and analytics are essential.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of progressively responsible hospital Patient Financial Services or revenue cycle experience.
• 1-2+ years of demonstrated team lead, supervisory, or people leadership experience.
• Working knowledge of Hospital Billing (HB) and/or Professional Billing (PB), the patient account lifecycle, and Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payer, and patient responsibility processes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage workflow, productivity, quality, service levels, and employee performance.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to operate effectively in a multi-hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily PFS operations for assigned HB and PB functions, including billing, insurance follow-up, denials and appeals, self-pay, cash posting, payment reconciliation, and final account resolution.
• Manage work queues, AR inventories, aging, unresolved accounts, unapplied cash, credit balances, and other priority backlogs; align work assignments to volume, complexity, service levels, and staffing capacity.
• Monitor staffing capacity, workload, volumes, and service levels; rebalance resources and priorities to maintain operational performance.
• Ensure timely, accurate execution of standardized workflows, SOPs, payer requirements, financial policies, and account documentation standards.
• Identify operational barriers and systemic issues affecting reimbursement, cash flow, account resolution, or patient experience and drive or escalation resolution.
• Oversee insurance follow-up across Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payer, and patient populations; monitor aging, denials, and timely filing deadlines.
• Identify payer trends and collaborate with stakeholders to address root causes; support payer escalations with clear documentation.
• Oversee patient balance workflows, statements, payment arrangements, financial assistance, charity care, bad debt, and collections per policy.
• Promote timely account resolution and a consistent, patient-centered financial experience across HB and PB.
• Oversee timely posting of payments, adjustments, denials, and remittance activity; resolve cash posting variances and reconciliation issues.
• Lead, coach, and develop PFS associates; set expectations for productivity, quality, attendance, service, and accountability; conduct regular huddles.
