Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years in healthcare revenue cycle or patient financial services preferred.
• Strong customer service, empathetic communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to navigate multiple systems and document interactions.
• Experience with hospital EHR, patient accounting, or insurance terminology helpful.
• Knowledge of financial assistance workflows and HIPAA requirements.
• Willingness to learn, accept coaching and adapt to client needs.

Responsibilities

• Handle inbound and outbound patient calls about statements, balances, and billing concerns.
• Explain balances and next steps in clear, patient-friendly language.
• Process payments, offer approved arrangements, and follow self-pay policies.
• Identify eligibility for financial assistance and refer accordingly.
• Research accounts in hospital systems and document interactions accurately.
• Escalate complex accounts to billing, coding, or leadership as needed.
• Deliver empathetic service, aiming for first-contact resolution and timely follow-up.
