Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare revenue cycle or patient financial services.
• Demonstrated customer service skills with empathy and problem-solving.
• Ability to research patient accounts and document interactions accurately.

Responsibilities

• Manage inbound and outbound calls about hospital statements, insurance processing, balances, self-pay accounts, and payment options.
• Explain account balances, insurance payments, and next steps in clear, patient-friendly language.
• Process patient payments, offer payment arrangements, and follow self-pay collection practices.
• Identify eligibility for financial assistance or charity care per policies.
• Research accounts in EHR, patient accounting, payment, telephony, and CRM systems; document interactions and follow-up.
• Escalate complex issues and collaborate with billing or leadership as needed.
• Deliver an empathetic, respectful patient experience and pursue first-contact resolution when possible.
• Balance patient experience with financial accuracy, compliance, and productivity.
• Follow HIPAA/privacy rules and hospital policies; maintain system access and complete training.
• Remain available during scheduled shifts and hand off active calls appropriately.
