Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years in healthcare revenue cycle or patient financial services.
• Strong customer service, empathy, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to research accounts across multiple systems and document interactions.
• Experience with EHR, hospital billing or CRM systems and HIPAA knowledge.
• Comfort with self-pay collections, payment plans, and patient explanations.

Responsibilities

• Inbound and outbound patient and guarantor calls about statements and balances.
• Explain account balances, insurance payments, and patient responsibilities clearly.
• Process payments, offer approved payment arrangements, and follow self-pay policies.
• Identify eligibility for financial assistance and refer to workflows.
• Research accounts in EHR, patient accounting, payment, telephony, and CRM systems.
• Document interactions, dispositions, and follow-up requirements accurately.
• Escalate complex issues to billing, coding, or leadership as needed.
• Deliver empathetic, respectful service and pursue timely first-contact resolution.
• Follow HIPAA/privacy rules and hospital policies during communications.
