Signature Performance, Inc. is seeking a remote Patient Financial Experience Representative nationwide in the United States. This role handles inbound and outbound patient communications, resolving billing and insurance inquiries while facilitating payments and financial assistance referrals.

You will research accounts across multiple systems, document interactions, and uphold HIPAA and privacy requirements, ensuring first-contact resolution and high-quality patient experiences.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include high school diploma or GED and 1–2 years in healthcare revenue cycle or patient financial services.
• Demonstrated customer service skills, including empathetic communication, active listening, problem-solving, and the ability to explain complex financial information clearly.
• Experience with hospital patient accounting or EHR systems, insurance terminology, self-pay collections, payment plans, and account resolution.

Responsibilities

• Manage inbound and outbound patient and guarantor calls regarding statements, insurance processing, patient balances, self-pay accounts, payment options, and billing concerns.
• Explain account balances, insurance payments, patient responsibility, and next steps in clear, patient-friendly language.
• Collect and securely process patient payments, offer payment arrangements, and follow self-pay collection practices and consumer protection requirements.
• Identify eligibility for financial assistance or charity care and refer patients per policies and workflows.
• Research accounts in EHR, patient accounting, payment, telephony, and CRM systems; document interactions and follow-up.
• Identify billing discrepancies or complex accounts; escalate to appropriate teams as needed.
• Deliver an exceptional patient experience with empathy, active listening, and de-escalation; seek first-contact resolution or timely follow-up.
• Follow policies, HIPAA/privacy requirements, and federal/state regulations governing patient financial communications.
