The position emphasizes empathy, clear explanations, and collaboration with hospital partners to ensure accurate account resolution and excellent patient experience. Prior healthcare billing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years in healthcare revenue cycle or patient financial services.
• Strong customer service, empathetic communication, and problem-solving.
• Ability to research patient accounts and navigate multiple systems.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and consumer financial communication requirements.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to changing needs.
• Experience with hospital EHR or patient accounting systems.
• Maintain professionalism and discretion with sensitive finances.

Responsibilities

• Handle inbound/outbound patient communications and inquiries.
• Explain balances, insurance payments, and next steps clearly.
• Collect payments and offer approved payment arrangements.
• Identify eligibility for financial assistance or charity care.
• Research accounts in EHR, accounting, telephony, and CRM systems and document interactions.
• Escalate billing discrepancies or complex cases to appropriate teams.
• Deliver compassionate patient experience with empathy and active listening.
• Follow HIPAA/privacy requirements and hospital policies.
