Job summary

FMS, Inc. is hiring a Patient Financial Services Representative to manage patient inquiries about billing, insurance, and services from our medical provider clients. You will negotiate payment arrangements, address insurance questions, and ensure timely, compliant communication with patients.

The role requires strong communication and negotiation skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and familiarity with HIPAA and FDCPA regulations. Hybrid work and benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare collections, billing, or customer service is preferred.
• Knowledge of healthcare billing processes, insurance claims, and medical terminology is preferred.
• Familiarity with HIPAA and FDCPA regulations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Proactively contact patients to negotiate and resolve outstanding balances, offering payment options and terms within client guidelines.
• Handle all communications (phone, email) regarding billing inquiries, insurance claims, service disputes, and questions about procedures.
• Assist patients in understanding their explanation of benefits.
• Route concerns to appropriate clinical or billing teams for resolution.
• Record all patient interactions, payment agreements, and resolutions in HIPAA-compliant systems.
• Provide empathetic, high-quality service to ensure patient satisfaction.
