FMS, Inc. is seeking a Patient Financial Services Representative to manage billing inquiries, insurance questions, and service-related concerns for our medical provider clients.

The role involves negotiating payment resolutions, handling inbound/outbound communications, and ensuring HIPAA-compliant documentation. You will work in a hybrid setting after on-site training, with opportunities for monthly bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, PTO, holiday pay, and a 401(k)

Qualifications

• Strong communication and negotiation skills to resolve financial and service-related issues.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and respond to patient inquiries efficiently.
• Experience in healthcare collections, billing, or customer service is preferred.
• Knowledge of healthcare billing processes, insurance claims, and medical terminology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Proactively contact patients to negotiate and resolve outstanding balances, offering payment options and terms within the client’s guidelines.
• Handle all communications (phone, email) regarding billing inquiries, insurance claims, service disputes, and questions about procedures, routing where needed.
• Assist patients in understanding their explanation of benefits.
• Address concerns about medical services and route to appropriate teams for resolution.
• Accurately document all patient interactions, payment agreements, and issue resolutions in compliance with HIPAA and regulations.
• Provide empathetic, high-quality service to ensure patient satisfaction even in complex financial/service issues.
