Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative to support Behavioral Health programs. The role ensures a welcoming patient experience, verifies demographics and insurance, and supports full reimbursement for services.

The position is remote with a Monday–Friday 10:00 AM–6:00 PM schedule and every other Sunday on weekends; candidates should have healthcare/customer service experience and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-3 years of healthcare, patient access, registration, or customer service experience.
• Strong understanding of health insurance; behavioral health experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and EHR systems.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Call center experience preferred.
• Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify demographic and insurance information.
• Confirm insurance eligibility and apply appropriate coverage and guarantor information.
• Communicate financial responsibility and refer patients to Financial Counseling as needed.
• Serve as a liaison between Behavioral Health programs and Patient Access.
• Coordinate coverage changes and authorization updates.
• Maintain accurate records within the electronic health record (EHR) system.
