Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative to join the team in a full-time capacity. The role supports the main check-in/check-out area with shifts Monday–Thursday 10:30am–7:00pm and Friday 8:30am–5:00pm, in a fast-paced, welcoming environment.

The position emphasizes accurate patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, and financial clearance, with training on EHR systems and confidential patient interactions across in-person, phone, and digital channels.

Qualifications

• Education: High school degree or equivalent. Associate's degree preferred.
• Experience: 1-3 years related work experience; computer systems familiarity.
• Skills: fast-paced multitasking, customer service, and basic medical terminology.
• Preferred bilingual written and verbal communication; strong typing 40+wpm.
• Call center/telephone customer service experience.
• Familiar with EHR software.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients for visits and explains the registration process.
• Processes patient co-pays, co-insurance, deductibles, and balances due; reconciles cash.
• Handles insurance questions and financial clearance; verifies patient information.
• Maintains confidentiality and security of patient information; supports a smooth patient experience.
• Supports scheduling via phone, online, and in-person channels; verifies demographics and insurance.
