Job summary

The Travelers Indemnity Company in Pittsburgh is seeking an Associate Claim Rep, Outside Property. You will receive comprehensive training in claim handling and policy interpretation while working with experienced claim professionals to manage 1st party property claims remotely.

The role focuses on developing your skills toward full claims handling responsibility, with much of the work done from home and occasional travel to insureds and offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; previous internship or work in customer service or insurance is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for clear customer interactions.
• Willingness to obtain an active adjuster license as required by state law.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; willingness to learn claims management and estimating software.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions within authority.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in structured training classes covering policies, claims processes, systems and procedures.
• Review, investigate, and document 1st party property claims under supervision.
• Gather information from policyholders, claimants, witnesses, and third-party providers.
• Determine coverage for building damages and establish scope of damages for estimates.
• Provide timely, professional communication to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate records of claim activity in claim management systems.
• Adapt to new technology implementations and digital tool rollouts while maintaining productivity.
