Job summary

Datavant is looking for experienced outpatient coders to join our fully remote team. The role focuses on validating CPT codes for precertification of same-day/outpatient surgeries across multiple specialties, with emphasis on Interventional Radiology.

You will review records, assign diagnoses and procedures, ensure correct APC coding, and maintain high accuracy while meeting productivity goals. EPIC and 3M/Solventum experience are preferred, with CIRCC/RCCIR credentials a plus.

Qualifications

• AHIMA or AAPC credentials required.
• Experience in Interventional Radiology.
• 2+ years of hospital or coding consulting experience.
• Proficiency in CPT/ICD coding for Same Day Surgery and Observation.
• Experience with EPIC and 3M/Solventum systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to work remotely.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign accurate diagnoses and procedure codes.
• Sequence codes based on documentation and assign discharge disposition.
• Abstract data for hospital statistics and reporting.
• Identify documentation improvements and coding issues for follow-up.
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy and APC assignment accuracy; meet productivity targets.
• Track continuing education credits to maintain credentials.
