The role focuses on reviewing records, validating CPT codes for precertification, and supporting multiple specialties including Interventional Radiology, General Surgery, Orthopedics, and Cardiology. Qualifikationen

• AHIMA or AAPC credentials required.
• Experience in Interventional Radiology.
• 2+ years of hospital or coding consulting experience.
• Proficiency in inpatient/outpatient coding (Same Day Surgery, Observation, Injections/Infusions).

Aufgaben

• Review medical records and assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Assign and sequence codes based on documentation.
• Assign the appropriate discharge disposition.
• Abstract and enter coded data for hospital statistics and reporting.
• Communicate documentation improvement opportunities to relevant personnel.
• Maintain a 95% coding accuracy rate and APC assignment accuracy; meet productivity standards.
• Track continuing education credits to maintain credentials.
• Attend Datavant Health sponsored education meetings.
• Demonstrate initiative and judgment in duties.
