Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced outpatient coders to join our remote coding team. The role focuses on Surgery and Observation coding with 3+ years of experience, including interventional radiology and precertification reviews.

EPIC and 3M/Solventum experience are required, with CIRCC or RCCIR credentials a plus. You will review records, assign diagnoses and procedures, and ensure accurate APCs while maintaining high quality and productivity.

Qualifications

• AHIMA or AAPC credential required/preferred.
• Interventional Radiology experience required.
• 2+ years hospital coding experience.
• Experience in Same Day Surgery, Observation, Injections/Infusions coding.
• Experience with precertification reviews and prior authorization a plus.
• Proficiency with EPIC and 3M/Solventum.
• Strong time management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign accurate codes.
• Assign and sequence codes based on documentation.
• Determine discharge disposition.
• Abstract and enter coded data for reporting.
• Communicate coding issues for follow-up and resolution.
• Maintain coding accuracy and productivity standards.
• Attend Datavant Health sponsored education meetings.
