Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced outpatient coders with 3+ years in hospital coding to support precertification and CPT validation in a fully remote role. Candidates should have Interventional Radiology expertise, EPIC and 3M/Solventum proficiency, and AHIMA/AAPC credentials.

Qualifications

• AHIMA/AAPC credentials required or equivalent
• 2+ years of coding in hospital or coding consulting roles
• Experience with Interventional Radiology coding
• Proficiency in Same Day Surgery, Observation, Injections/Infusions coding
• EPIC and 3M/Solventum experience
• Strong written and verbal communication; remote work aptitude

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures
• Sequence codes based on documentation and discharge disposition
• Abstract and enter coded data for hospital statistics and reporting
• Communicate coding issues and opportunities for documentation improvement
• Maintain high coding accuracy and APC assignment accuracy; meet productivity standards
• Track continuing education credits to maintain credentials
• Attend Datavant Health sponsored education meetings/in-services
• Demonstrate initiative and professional judgment in duties
• Coordinate with hospital staff regarding clinical and reimbursement matters
• Adhere to AHIMA's code of ethics and maintain patient confidentiality
