Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced outpatient coders for full-time remote roles with a focus on Surgery and Observation coding, CPT validation for precertification, and radiology specializations. Candidates should have 3+ years of experience, CIRCC/RCCIR credentials a plus, EPIC and 3M/Solventum experience, and AHIMA or AAPC certifications.

Qualifications

• AHIMA or AAPC credentials (RHIA, RHIT, CCS or CPC, CPC-H, COC, CIC or CRC).
• Experience in Interventional Radiology.
• 2+ years of coding experience in hospital or consulting roles.
• Proficiency in Same Day Surgery, Observation, Injections/Infusions coding.
• Proficiency in Ancillary, ED, Injections/Infusions, E/M leveling coding.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Assign and sequence codes based on documentation.
• Assign discharge dispositions.
• Abstract and enter coded data for hospital statistics and reporting.
• Communicate documentation improvement opportunities to relevant personnel.
• Maintain a 95% coding accuracy rate and APC assignment accuracy.
• Track continuing education credits to maintain credentials.
• Attend Datavant Health sponsored education meetings.
• Demonstrate initiative and judgment in job responsibilities.
• Communicate with coworkers, management, and hospital staff on clinical and reimbursement issues.
• Work in a professional, efficient and positive manner.
• Adhere to AHIMA/AA"H"A code of ethics.
• Be customer-service oriented and flexible.
• Handle high complexity of work and decision-making.
