Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced outpatient coders to join our remote team. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of coding experience in ED and Outpatient SDS/OBS settings, CCS certification, and proficiency with EPIC and 3M/Solventum.

Responsibilities include accurate diagnosis and procedure coding, discharge disposition, and data abstraction for hospital reporting. We value strong communication, remote-work capability, and time management.

Qualifications

• AHIMA or AAPC credentials are required.
• Minimum 2 years of hospital coding experience.
• Proficiency with ED, SDS/OBS coding and related CPT/ICD-10 coding.
• Strong communication and ability to work remotely with good time management.
• Experience with EPIC and 3M Solventum is required.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Sequence codes based on documentation.
• Determine discharge disposition and abstract data for reporting.
• Communicate coding issues and documentation improvement opportunities.
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy and APC assignment accuracy; meet productivity standards.
