Job summary

Datavant is seeking an experienced outpatient coder to join our remote team. You will review medical records, assign diagnoses and procedures, and ensure accurate APC/discharge coding in a compliant, high-accuracy environment.

Ideal candidates hold AHIMA or AAPC credentials, have 3+ years hospital coding experience, and can manage time effectively in a remote setting. We offer comprehensive benefits and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• AHIMA or AAPC credentials required.
• 3+ years of hospital coding experience required.
• Proficiency with surgeries, ED, ancillary, and E/M coding.
• Experience with encoding/abstracting software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Assign and sequence codes based on documentation.
• Assign discharge disposition accurately.
• Abstract and enter coded data for hospital statistics and reporting.
• Communicate coding issues to stakeholders for resolution.
• Maintain high coding accuracy and APC assignment rates.
