Datavant is seeking experienced outpatient coders to join a fully remote, flexible team. The role emphasizes high coding accuracy, adherence to APC assignment standards, and ongoing credential maintenance.

Qualifications

• AHIMA or AAPC credentials required.
• 3+ years of coding experience in a hospital or coding consulting role.
• Proficiency in coding for Same Day Surgery, Observation, Injections/Infusions, ED and E/M leveling.
• Experience with computerized encoding and abstracting software.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Sequence codes based on documentation.
• Determine discharge dispositions.
• Abstract and enter coded data for hospital statistics and reporting.
• Communicate coding improvements and issues to appropriate personnel.
