Job summary

Datavant, a healthcare data collaboration platform, is seeking experienced outpatient coders for a fully remote role with a flexible schedule.

You will review medical records, assign diagnoses and procedures, ensure accurate coding, and support hospital reporting. Ideal candidates hold AHIMA or AAPC credentials, have 3+ years of hospital coding experience, and demonstrate strong communication and time management.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of coding experience in hospital and/or coding consulting roles.
• Proficiency with coding specialties including Same Day Surgery, Observation, Injections/Infusions.
• Experience with computerized encoding and abstracting software.
• Ability to take and pass annual HIPAA examinations.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign accurate diagnoses and procedure codes.
• Assign and sequence codes based on documentation.
• Enter coded data for hospital statistics and reporting.
• Maintain high coding accuracy and APC assignment accuracy; meet productivity standards.
• Track continuing education credits to maintain credentials.
