Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced outpatient coders for a fully remote role with a flexible schedule. You will review medical records, assign diagnoses and procedures, and ensure accurate coding with high quality and productivity standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of coding experience in hospital or coding consulting.
• Credential maintenance through annual HIPAA testing and continuing education.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Sequence codes based on documentation and assign discharge disposition.
• Enter coded data for hospital statistics and reporting.
• Identify documentation improvement opportunities and communicate them to relevant staff.
• Maintain coding accuracy of 95% and productivity per site standards.
• Track continuing education credits for credentials.
• Attend Datavant Health sponsored meetings and trainings.
• Communicate with colleagues and management on clinical and reimbursement issues.
• Work in a professional, efficient, and customer-service oriented manner.
• Comply with HIM Division policies and ethics guidelines.
